  1. The family of Ms. Claretha L. Washington-Norris: My heart is saddened by the passing of your mother. I first met Claretha when I did my internship at Arrow Project where she was employed at that time. I felt that I knew her all my life as she opened her arms and received me as a friend. I enjoyed going out eating with her, going to events and especially her email. The world lost a true gem, but heaven gained an Angel whose work on Earth is done. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. May your memories bring you comfort. Also take comfort in our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is able to console you in this sad hour. I say farewell to your mother until we meet together on the shining court of Glory.

    1. Thank you, Mrs. Ward for your heart-felt and heart-warming words. Mom certainly had a gentle and kind nature towards everyone for all the days of her life. And, it is a comfort to know that she’s in the arms of our Lord and Saviour.

God bless you and your family.

  2. To Claretha’s family – I was saddened to hear of your mother’s death. I worked with your mom at Arrow when I was the Associate Clinical Director there and then at Mentor when she was a foster parent with us. She was a true friend, a trusted and valuable colleague, and an amazing woman who is now resting and joyful with our Lord. She did so much for me when my Dad died and I was always thankful for her friendship and presence. This world was a better place because of her. She will be truly and utterly missed.

On behalf of the family, we thank you for your kind words. You described her well, positive outlook, and she was one who always smiled, when she felt great, and even when she felt her worst. We were all graced by her presence while she was with us in this life.

  4. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I knew Claretha briefly when I worked with her at the Arrow Project. Even though I did not know her well, I was always remember her kind disposition. She will be missed!

    1. Thank you for kind remarks, Ms. Darling. A kind disposition is an accurate description of Mom. May her gentle spirit and kind nature continue to have an affect on all who knew her and loved her.

  5. Claretha was a sweet woman who has a very special place in my heart. In 2007 when I was starting at Arrow after being unemployed for a few really rough months, she was a light. And at that time Claretha was going through her own rough time in life as well but she was still so pleasant and helpful to me. I actually would tease her that her desk was “the desk of wisdom” because there was so much I didn’t know about how the office ran and I had to go to her for everything. I have a lot of great memories from going to the Valentine’s Day dinner at her church to my attempt to watch Buffy for a weekend and only lasting one night:). I am praying for her family and friends and will cherish my memories of her always.

    1. Hello Amanda

Your memories of the Valentine’s Dinner, the weekend with Buffy, and Mom’s desk being a ‘desk of wisdom,’ bring a smile to my face. Mom enjoyed you, as well, Manda, and she often expressed that you were a good friend. She appreciated you very much.

We truly appreciate your sincere thoughts and prayers. May her kind and gentle spirit live on in all of us who loved her dearly.

  6. To the Jackson family. No words can help heal the loss of your mother. I consider myself a friend to the family and wish to express my deepest sympathy in your mothers passing. No one knows why they must leave this earth we only hope it is for the good and to stop the pain they had to endure on this earth. In Heaven no pain and All Glory and still be able to smile on the people left behind and tell them Don’t weep for I go to prepare a place for you, and one day we may be together again in Heaven as we were on Earth.
