Shaun Demetrius White

On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, Shaun Demetrius White, 43 of Upper Marboro, MD left us to be with our Lord and Savior.

Shaun was the son of Gertrude White and Clarence Ballard. He attended elementary school in Somerset County and high school in Prince Georges County MD.  After graduating from Gwynn Park High School in Gwynn Park, MD he attended college at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD.  In 1991 Shaun went to work at the Navy Federal Credit Union in Vienna, VA as a document specialist and recently completed 22 years of service.  Shaun was promoted several times and served the last five years as a supervisor in the Administrative Services Division. He received Sustained Superior Performance awards numerous times during his tenure at Navy Federal.

Shaun will be most remembered for his constant humor and ability to make you laugh.  When he entered a room, laughter was soon to follow. His favorite pastimes were catching the latest releases at the movie theater and watching science fiction shows. Shaun was also an avid sports fan who loved watching football and basketball games with friends.

Shaun leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Gertrude White of Largo, MD; sister Nicole White, Philadelphia PA; two aunts,Patricia White (Robert Mitchell), of Largo, MD and Betty Clark (Joseph Clark) of Princess Anne, MD; two uncles Larry White (Tammy White) of Princess Anne, MD and Daryl Fields (Janice Fields) of New Castle, DE; two great aunts, Audrey Johnson-Boyd of New Brunswick, NJ and Emma Shreeves of Westover, MD; a special cousin Malcolm Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; and host of other relatives and friends.

Shaun was preceded in death by his grandmother Esther White, his grandfather, Henry White, Sr. and uncles Henry, Jr., Bruce and Gary White of Westover, MD.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at John Wesley United Methodist Church (Cottage Grove) in Westover, MD. Reverend Isaac Ballard will be the Eulogist.   Interment will be private.

  2. Shaun you will be missed…I remember when we met at Fat Tuesdays ib Union Station many nany moons ago.. Right off the bat we started talking trash to each other and we became friends from that moment on…

  5. Thank you for your friendship, your time and your ear. You gave me a blow by blow of the last Class Reunion. Even put the phone on speaker so I could join in. I will miss the crazy FB messages and the text messages on my way to Maryland, heading to my mother’s. Just knowing you would come by. Elaine is going to miss fussing at you, so is the rest of the family. Like I told you when I last saw you, I love you and I will miss you.

  6. I was deeply saddened by the news. Shaun and I was coworkers for 20 years at Navy Federal Credit Union, the office will not be the same without him. Shaun brought so many happy moments in our life and left us with a treasure trove of memories. We will never be able to forget him. I cannot even begin to imagine what you’re going through and how difficult all this must be for you. My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult loss. May his soul rest in peace.

  8. When I reminisce, sometimes I cry, but I smile too. I will make this promise to you right now that I’m living my life to the fullest, In honor of your memory! I am still very deeply saddened and missing my good friend!!!

  9. Shaun your sudden death has shook the whole mail Image section. Shaun and I were co-workers at the Navy Federal Credit
    Union. He was one of the shift supervisors. We love you, and no amount of words can erase your memories from our section. Oh our dear brother, a colleague and co-worker we will miss you so much. You always joked with us and with a lot of laughter. You left us with a deep sorrow, your amazing memories will still remain in our section. Anytime I turn to see your desk empty Shaun I cried! May God protect your soul, and may He shower you with lots of love and peace. We love you, but God loves you best. We believe that you are at the right place with the heavenly Father. We extend our condolences to the White family. May your soul rest in perfect peace until we meet again.

  10. My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Shaun. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I am happy that I had the chance to enjoy a great time with Shaun recently at one of his favorite spots, TGI Fridays (District Heights). Rest well my friend.
