Rosanne “Baby Sis” Cottman

Rosanne CottmanRosanne “Baby Sis” Stevenson Cottman ,66,of Princess Anne was the daughter of the late William Gilbert Stevenson, Sr. and Louise Curtis-Stevenson. She was born on November 9, 1947 and departed this  life on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

“Baby Sis” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends was educated in the Somerset County Public School System.  She was employed as a Residential Aide with Dove Pointe until her health failed.  Rosanne was married to the late Albert Cottman and from this union there were two children. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister and aunt.

“Baby Sis” enjoyed spending time with her family, playing dominos and playing bingo.  Rosanne was a faithful and active member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and started singing at a young age with her oldest sister and youngest brother.  The group was first called the Starlight Trio, then other family members joined and they became the Starlight Quintet.  She often recalled Deacon Mexico Stephens as the group chauffeur.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Antonio and Kendall Cottman, both of Princess Anne; five grandchildren, Perrisha, Damar, Kendra, Briashia, and Devin; five great grandchildren; one sister, Sarah M. White of Delmar, DE; four sisters-in-law, Arlene Cottman, Lily Beckett, Josephine Smith, Bessie Stevenson and a host of  several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and extended  friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Hearne and four brothers, Edward, William, Orly, Sr. and Riley Stevenson.

A funeral service will be held  11AM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Princess Anne, with a viewing one hour prior.  Rev. Carroll Mills will be the Eulogist.  A viewing will also be held 1-6 PM, Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne.  Interment will be in John Wesley (Bowland Hill) Cemetery in Princess Anne.
