Ellwood Henry Morris, Sr., 68, of Princess Anne, Maryland departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne. Born on December 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Elmer Morris and Sarah Mosley-Brown.
He was educated in the Public Schools of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later relocated to Princess Anne. He served in the United Army Reserve. He was employed at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Dining Services until his retirement. Mr. Morris was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was married to the late Diane Johnson-Morris.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Rochelle Morris of Princess Anne; one son, Ellwood H. Morris, Jr. of Princess Anne; eight grandchildren, Tavian, Kierra, Ka’Leke, Kyra, Kashmere, Co’Rion, Mechelle and Jahmira; two great grandchildren, Ayden and De’Marion; nine brothers, William Morris (Dorothy), Robert Springs (Hortense), George Morris, David Morris, Jethro Brown and Jonathan Brown, Joseph Brown (Darlene), Thomas Brown and Joel Brown; seven sisters, Darlene Smith (Ralph), Alice Washington, Jetherene Brown, Marie Wells, Jackie Canales (Tony), Sarah Bynum (James) and Harriette Warner; one mother-in-law, Frances Niskey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Johnson-Morris; one daughter, Melissa Morris; one grandson, Kyle Jones; one brother, Johnny Morris and one sister, Charlene Pleasanton.
A funeral service will be held 1PM, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, with a viewing two Hours prior. Rev. Michael Smith, Sr. will be the Eulogist. A viewing will also be held 1-6 PM, Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment will be in Centennial Cemetery in Fairmount, Maryland.

I’m gonna miss you terribly unc, miss hearing u ask for some ginger ale, ask for some chew gum, miss seeing you dance around the room, and how can I forget that beautiful smile of yours that always lit up any room you were in. I know your in a better place and that God doesn’t make no mistakes and I’m OK knowing that he took one of the best and that your safely resting in his arms!!! I’ll see you soon one day. Me and my sister and mother lived downstairs from Mr. and Mrs. Morris in the early 80’s around the time their son was born…..they were very kind,good people. Prayers for the family…
