Dorothy Morgan

Dorothy O. Morgan, 83, of Crisfield, Maryland departed this life on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield, Maryland.  Born May 28, 1933.  She was the daughter of the late Elijah Miles, Sr. and Blanche Boston-Miles.  She was raised by her sister the late Martha Crippen.

Dorothy was employed at Sherwin Williams (Rubberset) for many years until she retired.  She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church for 17 years where she served as a Stewardess and on the Usher Board.  She supported her church duties.

Dorothy loved word search puzzles, watching basketball and golf.  Golf was her favorite sport, Tiger Woods was her favorite Golfer.

Dorothy was very devoted to her family.

She leaves to cherish precious memories with: her children,  Douglas Miles, Sr. (Sarah) of Dover, Delaware, Anthony Jackson (Crystal), Dalmus Miles, Maxine Taylor, Anne Steward (George, Jr.), all of Crisfield and      Veronica Morgan of Washington, DC; raised as a son, Douglas Miles, Jr.; raised as a daughter, Joverne Collins; 26 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; one sister, Elnora Byrd; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olan O. Morgan, Sr.; one son, Olan O. Morgan, Jr.; two daughters, Cynthia Miles and Tammy Jackson; four brothers, Oscar Miles, Elijah Miles, Jr., Josh Miles, and Marion Miles; four sisters, Martha Crippen, Ida Lester, Louise Miles and Helen Somers.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Crisfield.  With a viewing one hour prior.  A viewing will also be held 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday at the Church.

Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery, Crisfield.

  1. So Mommom i just had to come and be nosey lol, and here you are. I can’t believe that you have left me (tears), with our last real conversation i asked you if you were ready to go be with the lord and you said Yes with no hesitation, then i asked “you just going to leave me here” and you politely said yes! With mom gone and now you who is going to be my motherly figure/remodel? There is so much that i want to say but im soooooooooo numb and lost for words right now the best thing that i can say right now is Mommom I love you with all my heart!

  2. Dorothy had a big heart which she shared with everyone she met. Dorothy will be missed by all! Much love to her family!
