Shirley Ann Wilkins Morgan, 91, of Crisfield, Maryland departed this life Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home. Born March 1, 1926 in Preston, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jeanette Giddings-Wilkins.
The family later moved to Crisfield and she attended St. Paul A.M.E Church until moving to New Jersey.
On January 9, 1957, Shirley was happily married to Charles Morgan and they relocated to Newark, New Jersey. Shirley joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in 1958 where she became a member of the Usher Board, Senior Choir and later served as Secretary for the church Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory with one son, Kenneth Wilkins, Sr. (Barbara), four grandchildren, Kenneth Wilkins, Jr., Shirl “Jeaneen” Wilkins, Titus Wilkins and Cory McBride; five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Wilkins (Loetta); one brother-in-law, William Ponder; a sister-in-law, Linda Wilkins; one devoted cousin, John “Randy” Wilkins; and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Biddy” Morgan; one step-son, Charles Brown; two brothers, Raymond and Lawrence “Lonnie” Wilkins; two sisters, Beatrice Jackson and Mary Ponder.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 4th Street and Broadway, Crisfield, Maryland with a viewing one-hour prior. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Crisfield.
