Oliver Lee Collins, Sr.,64, of Princess Anne, Maryland, departed this life on Sunday July 3, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born to the late Sarah Collins and Edward Matthew Collins, Sr.
Oliver “Big O” as some knew him was educated in the Somerset County Public Schools. Oliver worked for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland for a number of years and the Clarence Davis Trucking of Westover, Maryland for many years. In his later years he worked for SHORE UP Inc., in Salisbury, Maryland.
Oliver was preceded in death by his sister Janette Collins and three brothers Thomas Collins, Elwood Collins, and Edward Collins, Jr.
Oliver leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Sarah Collins and Lajuana Collins of Salisbury, Maryland and Makayla Collins of Princess Anne, Maryland; three sons, Oliver Lee Collins Jr., Shawn Collins and Dorell Collins of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister Alice Collins; and one brother Riley Collins of Princess Anne, Maryland. Eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Anthony E. Ward Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Maryland. Friends may also call Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Anthony E. Ward Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment services will be held privately.
