Alberta E. Rolle, 82, departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born on May 22, 1929 to the late Mervin and Alberta Jones.
“Shing” as she was affectionately known and called was educated in the Public Schools of Somerset County and graduated from Greenwood High School in Princess Anne. Maryland. She was employed with various industries over the years, and most recently at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Alberta met and married the late William H. Keeling and to this union, two beautiful children were born. Later in life she met and married the late Alfred Rolle and together they raised their great grandson, David “D.J.” Williams.
Alberta leaves to cherish fond and wonderful memories with: one daughter, Barbara J. Williams of Princess Anne, Maryland; a great grandson, David “D.J.” Williams of West Palm Beach, Forida; two granddaughters, Lenora (Curtis) Wester of Riviera Beach, Florida and Davida Williams of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law, Roosevelt Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland; 15 other great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Tyson of Alachua, Florida, Marcus Fontaine, Sr., Dennis Brady, Sr., Charlena Tilghman and Thomas Barkley, Sr., all of Princess Anne; several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by one son, William H. Isaac Keeling; one sister, Mary F. Johnson; one son-in-law, David Williams, Sr.; and two grandchildren, Barbara A. Williams and David Williams, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Mt. Hope African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Princess Anne, Maryland where friends may call two hours prior. Interment will be held in the John Wesley United Methodist Church (Bowland Hill) Cemetery in Princess Anne.
