James Edward Henderson, Sr., 77 of Marion Station, Maryland, departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence. Born May 10, 1936 in New Church, Virginia. He was the son of the late Charles and Florence Henderson.
James later met and married the love of his life, Bernice they moved to Marion Station, Maryland, this is where they made their home.
James was a farmer and he was employed by Swift Farms before retiring.
He was a strong humble man, a man of few words, unless he was reminiscing about old times or talking on the phone with his best friends, JC Cooper and Robert Lewis.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with: six daughters, Mary Fields, Consola Johnson, Sarah, Vanessa and Lisa Henderson and Hope Fontaine (Corey); four sons, James, Jr., and Charles Henderson (Romaine), Clifton Marshall (Lisa) and Gregory Schoolfield; 30 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles (Margie), Robert and William Henderson; two sisters, Sarah Marshall and Rosie Morris; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Bivens Henderson; three sons, Robert, Larry and Carey Fields; one granddaughter, Shulonda Fields; one grandson, Prentiss Henderson; one great grandson, Leroy Johnson; one brother, Willie Henderson and one sister, Sadie Douglas.
Funeral Service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Marion Station with a viewing one hour prior, Rev. Cynthia Bonneville will be the Eulogist. There will also be a viewing held 1-6 PM, Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne.
Interment will be at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion Station.
