Elton Randolph White, 77, of Salisbury departed this life Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Born November 6, 1936 in Princess Anne, Maryland, he was the son of the late Emory C., Sr. and Beatrice Miles White.
He was educated the Somerset County Public School System and graduated from Somerset High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Peninsula Roofing in Salisbury and retired after many years of service. He loved cooking dinners and making soup, cakes and pies.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Delores White of Augusta, Georgia; four stepdaughters, Cecilia McKune and Suzette Belo (William), both of Augusta, Georgia; Christine Dungy (Jerald, Sr.) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Sandra Johnson (Stanley, Sr.) of Augusta, Georgia; three brothers, Emory White, Jr. (Alesia) of Princess Anne, Sherwood White of Princess Anne and Kenneth White of Salisbury; two sisters, Lena Anthony of Princess Anne and Geneva Collins (Joseph) of Salisbury; one goddaughter Jacqueline Russell (Bruce) of Hebron, Maryland; a special grandson, Damian Stevenson (Bianca) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one aunt Catherine Miles of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, William, Charles, Bernard, Martin, Edward, Robert, and Elmer White; two sisters, Catherine Jones and Hazel White.
A viewing will be held 1:00-6:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD followed by a Wake and Visitation Service from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Interment will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
