Mary Dorothy Elizabeth Potter “Mommo”, 92, of Marion Station, Maryland was called to glory on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield, Maryland. She was born on June 11, 1922 in Westover, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Chris Cottman and Amelia Potter-Jackson.
She was educated in the Somerset County Public School System. Her employment included the Seafood Industry, Tomato Canning Industry, and worked at Sarah Payton School in Marion.
She leaves to cherish fond memories with her two daughters: Diane Potter-Williams (J.B.) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Francine Ward (Ronnie) of Crisfield; nine grandchildren, Belinda, Ternitta, Jerelyn, Demonde, Deidre, Lamount Sr., Christinia, Joseph, and Tashina; eleven great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Fitchett of Manokin, Maryland and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Antronette Perry and one sister, Juanita Robinson.
A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Maryland with a viewing one hour prior. The Eulogist will Elder Noah Steward. Interment will be at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion Station.
