Edward Roger Lake, Sr., 78, of Princess Anne departed this life Saturday, January 21,2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born October 17, 1938 he was the son of the late James, Sr. and Sarah King-Lake.
“Eddie” as he was affectionately known was educated in the Somerset County Schools and graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School in Crisfield in 1958.
He was employed at Salisbury State University and retired after 23 years of service.
He was a faithful member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Princess Anne, where he sang on the Choir and served in any capacity that was needed. Eddie was a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge #65 in Princess Anne.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with his devoted wife of 54 years, Jane Carr-Lake; one son, Edward R. Lake, Jr.; one daughter, Alva Birks; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Fosque; two sisters, Pastor Elsie Collier (William, Sr.) and Lisa Fosque; a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Gwen Lake; two brothers, James Lake, Jr. and Sam Hickman and one sister, Laverne Fosque.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Princess Anne with a viewing one hour prior. A Viewing will also be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the church where East Gate Masonic Lodge # 65 will perform ceremonial rites at 7:00 PM. Interment will be in John Wesley (Bowland Hill) Cemetery in Princess Anne.
