George Ralph Ward, 80, of Crisfield, Maryland passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019; after a long and courageous battle. George was one of six children born on August 12, 1938 in Hopewell, Maryland to the late George T. Ward and Mary A. Ward.
George attended Carter G. Woodson School in Crisfield. He was a self-employed handyman. He never met a stranger, he was a friend to many. His hobbies included traveling, hunting and having a great time at the casinos. He always had a story to tell. We will miss his infectious smile and laugh.
He was married to Louise Bivens.
George is survived by four children, Surveinus Ward, Janita Ward, Lewis Stevenson and Darryl Ward; two sisters, Diana W. Burns (Robert) and Trudy M. Ward, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two brothers, Brad E. Ward (Lola) and Gary T. Ward (Ida), both of Salisbury, Maryland; and a host of grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Dwight D. Ward and one son, Eric Ward.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Maryland with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Crisfield.
