A TIME TO BE BORN: Levenia Elaine Jefferson was born to the late James Corbett Wright and Alice Wright. From this union, were six daughters and two sons.
A TIME TO GROW: Levenia was educated in the Public Schools of Somerset County. She later pursued her passion directing and instructing students at Deal Island Elementary and Greenwood Middle School. She promoted academic growth and leadership.
She was a faithful member of St. Charles United Methodist Church in Chance, Maryland. She held several positions at the church including: Chairperson of the Finance Committee; a member of the Usher Board, Choir Member and United Methodist Women.
A TIME TO LOVE: Levenia was joined in holy matrimony to the Clarence Jefferson and they were in separable until his death in February 1990. Together they reared three children; Margaret Ann, Anthony and Paula.
A TIME TO DIE: Levenia was called to eternal rest on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Her soul and spirit was set free as God put his arms around her and gently whispered “come with me.”
A TIME TO CHERISH: her memory will be cherished by: a nephew, reared as her son, Anthony Deshields (Dorrie); a niece, reared as her daughter, Paula Meyers (Henry); a stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Coleman (Leon); nine grandchildren; a grandson, Jamir Davis whom she had a special love for; nine sisters, Geraldine Hitch of Princess Anne, Alice J. White, Shirley Wright and Frances Butler, all of Baltimore, MD, Pearl Johnson of Chance, Jackolee Bivens of Owings Mills, MD, Peggy Burke of Allen, MD, Doretha Johnson and Geraldine Owens, both of Cambridge, MD; three brothers, Danny Wright (Diana) of Philadelphia, PA, Lawrence Wright, Sr. (Jenny) of Salisbury, and Leroy Cane (Greta); one brother-in-law, Weldon Corbin of Princess Anne; and a host of other nephews, other nieces; cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Corbin and two brothers, Chester and James Wright, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Princess Anne, MD with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will also be held 2:00 – 6:00 PM Friday June 14, 2019 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD.
Interment will be in Saint Charles United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chance, MD.
