Geraldine J. Hitch, 93, of Princess Anne, Maryland, formerly of Chance, Maryland gained her heavenly wings on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Manokin Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Princess Anne. Born November 3, 1926 she was the daughter of the late James Corbett Wright, Sr. and Alice McBride-Wright. She was married to the late James Hitch, Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice White and Constance Collins; eight grandchildren, John, Jr., James, Jr., Anthony (Dorrie), Gary (Tracy), Andre’, Lisa (Ronald), Ronda (Bruce), and Shawna; 24 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; five sisters, Shirley Wright, Alice Jean White, Peggy Burke, Pearl Johnson, and Dorthea Johnson; three brothers, Danny Wright (Diana), Lawrence Wright (Jenny) and Leroy Cane (Greta); one brother-in-law, Weldon Corbin and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Franklin Waters; two brothers, Chester Wright and James C. Wright, Jr.; three sisters, Levenia Jefferson, Frances Butler, and Joyce Corbin.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Princess Anne with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will also be held 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2020 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment will be at Saint Charles United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chance.
