James William Maddox, 77, of Manokin, MD, went home to be the Lord on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD. Born December 19, 1944 to the late John Wesley Maddox and Cecil Young-Maddox.
James leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife, Betty Maddox; one son, Kevin Nock; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Maddox (Patricia) and Percell Yanks; his longtime companion, Evola Maddox and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee Maddox and Minnie Maddox.
A public viewing will be held 6:00pm-8:00 PMΒ on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the funeral home in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Interment will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 31, 2022 at Eastern Shore Veteran Cemetery in Hurlock MD.

He was married to my mother Evola Whittington Maddox. Though their marriage was very short. Their friendship lasted forever. In the end they shared much time together until his death. If he was living now and no longer in the hospital… He would be with her today. He was a very quiet man but I will cherish him mainly for being a friend to his ex-wife… My mother.
