Wilbur R. Ewell, of Marion Station, Maryland departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the tender age of 85 after a courageous battle and a lengthy illness at Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield, Maryland. The youngest son of the late John and Beaulah Ewell, born March 20, 1938.
Wilbur was educated in the Somerset County Public Schools. He joined Waters Chapel United Methodist Church at a young age and later joined the Jehovah’s Witness in Westover, Maryland. He really enjoyed the fellowship. Wilbur was a life long truck driver and heavy equipment operator until his retirement.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Vivian J. Johnson in 1966.
Fond memories are left to cherish by his children, Bernard Johnson (Mary), Dennis Johnson (Lynette), Steve Johnson , Mark Anthony Pearson and Raymond Teagle; a special niece, Sprigena Kenney-Maddox; two goddaughters, Charnette Pearson and Kim Harden; one sister-in-law, Anne Kenney; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, other nieces; extended family, The Jehovah witness Church; special friends, William Jones, Robert Bivens, Theodore Bivens and Kevin Styles.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Vivian Ewell, he was preceded in death by, two sons, Asbury and Gary Johnson; and a special friend Pershail Pearson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home with a viewing one hour prior.
Interment will be at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Marion Station, Maryland.
