Thelma Alexander, 92, of Germantown, Maryland, formerly of Crisfield, Maryland and Marion Station, Maryland, was born on March 8, 1931, to Helen Frances Jackson and Oscar Cottman. Thelma peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Thelma was employed as a seasonal worker picking crabs for over forty years.
Thelma loved to sit in the warm sun. She also loved being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thelma spent the past five years residing in the loving care of her Great Granddaughter Niya Fletcher.
She leaves to cherish her memories with one brother, Christopher Elmer Randolph Cottman (Joanne); four children, Leroy Cottman, Minnie Alexander, Joe Alexander, and Jimmy Alexander; three grandchildren, Edwin Fletcher Sr. (Amber), Jimmy Alexander and Jamar Alexander; eleven great grandchildren, Niya, Jeremy, Tramel, Tommy, Edwin Jr., Kobi, Jaya, Jamar, Joi, Lance, and Kamari; three great great grandchildren; Kayden, Armani and Sekai.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her son, James Cottman; siblings, Greenwich Johnson, Wilbur Douglas, Roger Douglas, Oscar Cottman, Johnny Cottman, Edward Cottman, Hartford Cottman, William Lee Cottman, Mary Anna Walker and Georgia Evans.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Highway Holiness Church, 27127 Old State, Crisfield, MD. Interment private.
