Littleton Thomas King, Jr.

 

Littleton Thomas King, Jr. transitioned to his eternal rest on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 75. He was born on January 23, 1949 to the late Littleton King Sr. and Sarah Etta King.

Fondly known as “Jughead” he was educated in the Somerset County Public School System. He was previously employed by Shore Distributors. Later, he became employed by State Highway Administration until he retired after 36 years of service.

Littleton was united in marriage in 1971 to Wanda M. Spence and from this union they had four children. As a member of St Mark’s United Methodist Church, he served on the Usher’s Board and was President of the Trustee Board until his health failed him.

He loved the Lord with all his heart. Family was the most important thing to him. He was a hard worker and kept busy at all times. He would help anyone and would give the shirt off his back.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Wanda of 53 years; one daughter, Dawn Spence of Princess Anne, MD; five sons, Terrial King of Charlotte, NC, Jerome (Angel) King of Delmar, DE, Tyrone (Cassandra) King of Princess Anne, MD, Brandon (Teyonia) King of Salisbury, MD,  and  Justin (Hope) King of Princess Anne, MD; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, J. Thomas Tilghman; one sister, Evelyn Christy both of Princess Anne, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Two close friends Walter Jones and Butch Hayward.

He was preceded death by his parents; four sisters, Mary Fields, Bertha Worthy, Bessie Corbin and Barbara Leatherbury; two brothers, Leon and Norman Tilghman.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 32265 Perryhawkin Road, Princess Anne, with a viewing one hour prior.  A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne.

Interment will be at Oaksville Community Cemetery.

Praying you find Peace and comfort in knowing that he is wearing his crown, he is putting on his robe and telling the story how he made it over.
