Willie “Bootsie” Frederick Ames, Sr., 66, of Crisfield, MD departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  Born August 29, 1957, he was the son of the late Willie “Bone” Sylvester and Lillian Taylor Ames.

Bootsie was born and raised in Crisfield, MD.  He received his education in the Somerset County school system.  He was employed at an early age with JCW Tawes Seafood.  Working alongside his Uncle June Taylor and brother Richard Taylor.  He also worked at the old Mrs. Paul’s kitchen in Crisfield, MD.  His last employment was with Marine Construction (Rick) until his health started to decline.

Bootsie was a very sociable and energetic person.  He was the life of everyone’s party, always singing, laughing and dancing.  He loved playing cards and shooting pool, which he learned from his Dad in Tidie’s pool hall.  He loved to eat, patting his “love muscle”.  Most of all, Bootsie loved his family from far and near.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Willie “Man” Frederick Ames, Jr.; three grandchildren, Elana, Amira, and Saedi Ames; two sisters, Ella Taylor Mack (Oscar) of Princess Anne, MD and Sheila Mae Ames of Crisfield, MD; three devoted cousins, Toni Dennis, Douglas Christian and Robyn Christian; close friends, Lawrence James, Clarence Cullen, Randolph Wilkins and Terry White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bootsie was preceded in death by two siblings:  Richard Preston Taylor and Robert James Taylor, Sr.
