On the 6th day of February in the year 1965 a marvelous event took place with two families Leonard Rhock and Betty Hitch. We will not question Gods work, for He has His reasons for everything he does. God assured Marvell lived an abundant wholesome life helping family and loved ones. Quietly Thursday morning February 27, 2025, around 10:20 AM at home he drew his last breath of life surrounded by his loving family.
Marvell was a hard-working man who devoted 29 years to Delaware Tire until taking ill. Most of the Marvell’s life was spent in the community of Mount Vernon. He received his formal education from the Somerset County Public Schools. Marvell was a fisherman who could catch a shark, a hunter who could kill a bear, a mechanic if your motor broke down, a sharpshooter when he played pool, a baller when playing basketball and a simple helping hand when needed.
Marvell leaves fond memories in the hearts of many; his dear aunt, Baba (Bernetta Conway), Zelda Rhock, Thelma Hitch and Barbara Jones; the creator of five beautiful children, Winston, Wesley, YeVonne, Jovell and Jamie; brother of, Taneka Brittingham, Rhonda Broadwater and Wendell Corbin; grandchildren to continue his legacy; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will never let his name fade.
In addition to his parents, Marvell was preceded in death one brother, Leonard Rhock, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Francis and Lawrence Hitch; uncles, Randolph, Edward, Thomas and Lawrence; aunts, Glorita Bailey and Dr. Dianne Showell Cherry.
A Funeral service will be held noon Monday, March 10, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Community Worship Center, 27818 Mission Rd. in Princess Anne (Mt. Vernon) with a viewing one-hour prior. A public viewing will be held 4:00 PM-6:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Anthony Ward Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD.
Interment will be at Mt. Zion Historical Church Cemetery, 29071 Polks Road, Princess Anne.
