Mary Anne Elizabeth Campbell Collins, 79, of Crisfield, Maryland went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland. Mary Anne was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 16, 1945, to the late Wyre William Campbell, Sr., and Susie Elizabeth Milbourne-Campbell.
Mary lived in Baltimore, Maryland until the age of nine when her mother died. Mary and her brother and two sisters moved to Hopewell, with their maternal grandmother, Annie Milbourne.
Mary Anne was educated in the Somerset County public school system. Mary Anne graduated from Carter G. Woodson School in 1964. She was a lifetime member of Light of Crisfield Temple #86, Bessie Leonard & Ethel K. Jews, Eastern Shore Past Granddaughter Ruler Circle and The Marionette. Mary was a longtime member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Marion, Maryland.
She leaves to cherish her daughter, Genine Campbell; her son, Martinez Collins; nine bonus children; two grandchildren, Demitrius Campbell, Sr. and Ja’Onna Campbell; 29 bonus grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, Tamyra, Corionna, Demitrius, Jr, Nahere, Jy’Ra, Demitrionna, Geonna; 46 bonus great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, Neveah; two bonus great great grandchildren; three sisters, Jacqueline Ames (William), Iris Veney (Lloyd), Dejenaba Pleasant-Bey; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved; longtime friends, Mary Jackson and Elmira Whittington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Collins, Sr.; two sisters, Naomi Collins, and Harriet Jones; three brothers, Wyre Campbell, William, and Ralph Crane; one niece, Russina Bishop; and one nephew, Keyon Honesty.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 10, 2025, at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 27945 Holland Crossing Road, Marion Station, MD with a viewing one-hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6-8 PM Friday, May 9, 2025, at the church where ceremonial rites will be performed by Light of Crisfield Temple #86 at 7:00 PM.
Interment will be at Ebenezer U.M.C. Cemetery in Marion Station.
