Walter Robert Curtis, Sr., 65 of Princess Anne, Maryland, departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence. Born February 1, 1949, he was the son of the late King E. Curtis, Sr. and Novellla Jones-Curtis.
Walter was educated in the Somerset County Public Schools and was employed as a truck driver for Cropper Concrete Company and retired after 30 years of service.
Walter leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary Curtis of Manokin, MD; four sons, Tony Curtis of Salisbury, MD, Walter Curtis, Jr. (Evette) of Westover, MD, Keith Kellam of Salisbury and Travis Johnson of Hebron, MD; four daughters, Lisa Curtis of Manokin, Latashia Kellam of Princess Anne, Tiffany Curtis and Shevonne Curtis, both of Salisbury; a devoted friend, Shirley Giddens of Pocomoke, MD; 20 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Wendell Curtis (Anne) of Eden, MD and Daniel Curtis of Princess Anne; and a host of nephews nieces, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Preston and King Curtis, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 11AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Samuel Wesley United Methodist Church in Manokin, MD, with a viewing one hour prior. Bishop Weldon Jonson will be the Eulogist. A viewing will also be held 1-6 PM, Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment will be in John Wesley U.M.C. (Bowland Hill) Cemetery, in Princess Anne.
