James Edward 
“Jimmy” Ward, 82, departed this life Friday, May 4, 2018 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Salisbury, MD. Born August 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Irlond Whittington and Cora Handy-Ward and Harmie Ward, Sr.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with two sons, William Palmer and Arnold Miles (Romona); two daughters, Vanessa Thornton and Tammy Miles; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; five brothers, Harmie Ward, Jr., James “Tinker” Collins (Alona), Vincent “Pete” Collins (Susie), Lawrence Jones (Althea) and Glenn Warren (Tracy); three sisters, Shirley Ward-Potter, Bertha Pryor and Wendy Whittington-Douglas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Arretta Brown-Ward; one daughter, Jimmie Faye Miles; two brothers, William Thomas, Sr. and Carl Thomas, Sr.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Crisfield, with a viewing one-hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2018 at the church. Ceremonial Rites by Crisfield Pride Elk’s Lodge #194 will commence at 7:00 PM. Interment will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
