Sarah Ann Turpin, 61, of Marion Station, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD. Born June 30, 1959, she was the daughter of the late William Henry “Bud” Byrd and Mary Ellen Blue-Byrd.
Sarah Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Dale Turpin; two sons, Derrell Turpin (Shayla) and Derrick Turpin; five grandchildren, Dale, D’Meir, Da’Karai, Cayia and Christian; four sisters, Emma Blue, Valerie Styles (Kevin), Inez Byrd and Lisa Byrd; a host of nephews and nieces; two special friends, who were like sisters, Carolyn Williams-Jackson and Ella Taylor -Mack (Oscar) and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Taylor.
A private service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home on Princess Anne with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will also be held 2:00 PM – 6:00 Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be at The Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.

Mrs. Sarah will be missed. I first met her when she was a bus aide in somerset county and her personality never changed!!! I pray for her family as they move through this difficult time in their lives!! N

Barbara Joan. So many memories from all of the years we worked together in the school system. Honest n said what she had to say. I would call her Turpin or Sarrayah….just imagine the look she would give. A good friend n an ecourager! God bless the family and may the love n peace of God br with you..
My sincere condolences to Dale and the family. Sarah will be missed by so many. Her shoes are going to be hard to fill for those of us who knew her. In 1977, I came to Crisfield my senior year and she was among the first students who welcomed me to CHS. I’ll never forget that.
