“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In My Father’s house there are many mansions; if that were not so I would have told you.” John 14
Larry Darnell Jackson, 63, of Marion Station, MD, made his heavenly transition on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 29, 1959, he was a son of Pastor Pauline Jackson and the late Bishop George Shanley Jackson.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Catherine Jackson. They were joined in holy matrimony on January 28, 2000. He received his formal education in the Somerset County Public School System, attending Crisfield High School. Larry was employed for many years in the seafood industry. He later went to work for R. W. Pyles until his health began to fail.
“Ol Skool” as he was affectionately called, was a fun-loving person. Larry never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved music and loved to sing. His favorite hymns were “Come Ye Disconsolate” and “This is My Exodus”. Playing cards with him was a big ordeal because he tended to make up his own rules as he played. Larry loved plants, flowers, nature and just being outdoors. He was also an avid fan of football, and his favorite team was the San Francisco 49ers. During football season, you could be sure to find him watching.
In addition to his wife, mother and first wife, Bertina Mae Jackson, Larry is survived by four sons, Tirrell Jackson, Sr. of Salisbury, MD, Martino Jackson, and Shawn Jackson (Whitney), both of Princess Anne, MD and Devin Jackson, Sr. (Lyndsay) of Delmar, DE; five daughters, Antwona Williams, Orlando, FL, Chandell Jackson, Milford, DE, Latoria Jackson, Crisfield, MD, Sierra Jackson, Mobjack, VA, and Jacqueline Collins, Roanoke, VA; 50 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Gregory H. Sutton (Sherleen) Dover, DE, James Kenneth Fisher (Terri) Wilmington, DE, Katrina Horsey-Posey of New Castle, DE, Vincent W. Jackson (Shalinda), Crisfield, MD, Anthony A. Jackson and Deborah F. Jackson, both of Crisfield, MD, Kevin E. Jackson, of Goldsboro, NC, Stevie L. Jackson (LaVerne) of Fruitland, MD and Ruth R. Worthy of Crisfield, MD; one aunt, Hazel Cropper of Crisfield, MD; one sister-in-law, Angela Bell (Donald) Marion Station; one niece (like a sister-in-law), Quanda Custis-Bozman (Gregory), Lewes, DE; one brother-in-law, John Wilkins, of Crisfield, MD; one special friend, Daniel Caldwell, and a host of other special friends, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family.
In addition to his siblings, his adopted siblings include Donna Horsey-White (Robert) of Salisbury, MD, Shalinda Jackson (Vincent) of Crisfield, MD, Annie Culbreath (Wayne), of Atlanta, GA, Leonard Horsey (Myrtle) of Princess Anne, MD, and Bishop George A. Copeland and Co-Pastor S. M. Copeland of Salisbury, MD.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Frances (Teensey) and Sinsari and Sharon Jackson; one-adopted sister, Marie Horsey-Dix, and two brothers, George and Shanley Jackson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Crisfield High School And Academy 210 N. Somerset Ave. Crisfield MD with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6-8 pm Friday, June 24, 2022 at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 27945 Holland Crossing RD, Marion Station MD.

You will surely be missed. You marched to your own drumbeat but you were always the same wherever I saw you. Rest easy classmate, friend and cousin. Praying for my family and knowing God will take care of each one of you. Another preplanned obligation prevents me from attending the service but my heart will be there with the family.
