On Tuesday, December 3, 2025, Delores Ann Cottingham Jackson, 79 years old, passed away at her home in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Delores was the daughter of Percy L. Cottingham, Sr. and Dorothea Croswell Cottingham. Delores was born in Crisfield, Maryland on August 20,1946 and raised in Marion Station, Maryland.
Delores was educated in the Somerset County School System having attended Carter G. Woodson Elementary and High School. She attended John Wesley United Methodist Church in Marion Station, Maryland as a youth and throughout much of her adulthood until after meeting and marrying Richard Jackson, Sr. of Withmans, Virginia on April 1, 1966 They made their home in Bridgeton, New Jersey and sometime later their family grew to three children, Angela Cottingham, Richard Jackson, Jr. and Christine Jackson.
Delores retired from the Prudential Insurance Company in Millville, New Jersey and the Cumberland County School System.
Delores leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 59 years, Richard Jackson of Bridgeton, New Jersey; children, Richard Jackson, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA. and Christine Jackson of Millville; three grandchildren, Deeanna Pierce (Joshua) of Millville, New Jersey, Brian Cottingham (Kayla) of Vineland, New Jersey and Aaliyah Leslie of Swedesboro, New Jersey; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Johnson of Parsonsburg, Maryland and Jacqueline West of Salisbury, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Cottingham of Laurel, Maryland, Teresa Jackson of Hopewell, New Jersey; and two brothers-in-law; Willie Jackson of Hopewell, New Jersey and Leon Jackson of Vineland, New Jersey. Delores was preceded in death by; both her parents; one daughter, Angela Cottingham; five brothers, Jimmy, Llewellyn, Percy, Jr., Donald and Eugene Cottingham; and two sisters, Gertrude Croswell and Barbara Nock.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., NJ. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery, 100 Overlook Drive, Bridgeton.
