Allen Stanley Milbourne, Sr., 91, departed this life on August 9, 2012 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield, Maryland.
Allen was born to the late Marion L. and Annie Elizabeth Miles-Milbourne on February 28, 1921 in Marumsco, Maryland. Allen was the youngest sibling of three. He was a World War II Veteran and also worked a number of years at Allen Tyler Seafood and retired from the City of Crisfield.
Allen was a loving and caring person. Due to the death of his sister, he helped to raise some of her children along with other family members. He also loved to work and tend to his garden and yard until his health begin to fail.
Allen was previously married to the former Alice Burress Milbourne and to this union there were no children.
Allen leaves to cherish fond memories a longtime companion, Barbara A. Sterling; caregivers, his niece and nephew, Carol Jones and Darren Jones and great niece, Sha’Nya Cephas, all of Crisfield, Maryland; other nieces and nephews, Mary Collins, Wyre Campbell of both Crisfield, Jackie (Billy) Ames of New Jersey, Marion Milbourne, Jr. of Marumsco, Maryland; additional great nieces and nephews, Susie (Vincent), Genine, William, Jr., Nadine, Roniesha, Martinez, Yolanda, Russina, William, Jr., Teddy and Janet; a host of third and fourth generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special thanks to Melissa Archie.
In addition to his parents, a son, Allen Milbourne, Jr., a brother, Marion Milbourne, Sr. a sister, Susie Campbell and a niece, Naomi Campbell Collins all preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Union Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
