Robert “William” Handy, 55, of Crisfield departed this life Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Edward W. McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield. “William” or “Slick Willie” as he was affectionately known was born July 27, 1962 to Edna Mae Corbin-Merrill and the late William Campbell, Jr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Pierre Whittington; eight grandchildren, Makhi Bailey, Jaierre, Tahiry , and Chloe Whittington, Jonnise , Markiera , Ra’Quel and Rymir ; a longtime friend, Vivian Whittington; Seven brothers, William “Chauncey” Campbell, III, Ronald Campbell, Nelson Handy, Joseph Handy, Cornelius “Mack” Merrill, Darryl “Tony” Merill and Liddell Ward (Jackie); five sisters, Rita Moore, Yvonne Whittington (Michael), Denise Handy Moss (Roger), Michelle Handy and Rhonda Campbell; three goddaughters, Shameer Whittington, Latifah Potter and Dr. Nykia Jackson Brooks (Joe).
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Handy United Methodist Church in Marion Station, with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Crisfield.
Interment at Liberia Cemetery in Marion Station, Maryland.

Cousin William “Slick Willie” when I spoke with you on Friday, I never thought that it would be our last conversation or laughs together. I was very heartbroken when I received the call two days later that GOD has called you home. I never got to say goodbye but I did get to tell you that I love you. I will cherish all the memories and I thank GOD for the love, growth, bond and years he gave us with you. Your memory will forever live and you shall and will not be forgotten.
