Walter A. Polk

Walter A. Polk, who was affectionately known as “Andre”, departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born to the late Walter and Lillian Polk. 

Andre was educated in Trenton Public School System. He resided in Trenton NJ majority of his life, prior to moving to Princess Anne, Maryland for a season of his life.

Andre went to Job Corp in Utah, he returned back to Trenton, later moving to Ohio for the remainder of his life. 

Andre was employed at PJ’s House of Pancakes in Princeton New Jersey and Sears. He was employed at Perdue while living in Princess Anne, Maryland. He was employed at Columbus Auto Auction and OSU Wexner Medical Hospital while residing in Columbus Ohio. 

Andre leaves to cherish his loving memory with his wife,  Leslie Polk; one daughter, Andrea Polk; one son,  Andre Polk; one sister,  Antoinette Polk of Laurel, MD; two sisters-in-law Tia (Felix) Davis and Tunisia King of Trenton, NJ; his mother-in-law, Bernadette Hardaway of Trenton;   two grandsons, Jordan Helton and Mason Barfield; one granddaughter, Mariah Barfield; five nieces, Shanice (Mervin) Delawder, Antionette Davis, Alycia Davis, Taylor Davis, Kyra Mason; one  great niece, Ava-Monae Boozer’; three nephews, Khaliq Polk, Terrence Polk and Jason (Carol) Polk; two great nephews, Jeremiah Miller and Dareen Delawder; three aunts, Lucille Jones, Jennie (Percy)Chase, and Elsie Collins; one uncle, David (Joyce) Polk; a lifetime friend of 50 years, Malik Shabazz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Lynn (Fay) Polk.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2021 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home with a viewing one hour prior.

Interment will be at Oaksville Community Cemetery.
