Jim Lewis Williams, Sr. “Hoover”

Jim L. Williams, Sr. affectionately know as “Hoover” was born to the late Mr. Henry Lewis Williams and the late Rosie Lee Williams on September 21, 1933 in Albany, Georgia. He departed this life on January 2, 2022 at the age of 88.

Hoover leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Rita; one daughter Rosa Blake, six sons, John Williams (Franchetta), Smitty Williams (Yulanda), Bruce Blake, Tony Blake, Jim Williams, Jr. (Mary), Jonell Williams (Yolanda) one stepson, Keith Purnell (Nina); one brother Henry James Williams (Eloise) of Brooklyn, New York and one aunt, Addie River of Albany, Georgia; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father and mother, he was also preceeded in death by one daughter, Joanne W. Milbourne and his brother, Roosevelt Williams.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 107 S. Collins St., Snow Hill, MD with a viewing one hour prior. A Public viewing will also be held 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Saturday , January  8, 2022 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD

Interment will be at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Hill, MD.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Hoover passing. He was such a sweet and wonderful person and always willing to help anyone that was in need. He will truly be missed and I will forever be grateful for how he always treated me and was there when my friends and I needed help. I will always remember him riding around with that cigar hanging from his mouth and smiling. I know that he is now at peace with the Lord and resting in God loving arms. Rest in peace Mr. Hoover, you will truly be missed.

  3. I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Jim Lewis Williams, Sr. “Hoover” Hoover was such a kind, gentle soul. He would do anything to help anyone in need of his assistance. He always maintained and personal relationship with myself and my Uncles Raymond “Pete” Johnson and late Bill Johnson. He will be truly missed. I pray that God will provide comfort to his family during these hours of need.

  4. Rita and the Family, we are so sorry for your loss and send Sincerest Condolences. Hoover was a great neighbor and friend and will truly be missed.
