Deloris Cotton

Deloris Cotton, daughter of the late Herbert Armwood, Sr. and Lola Holden-Armwood was born October 5, 1942 in Westover, Maryland.  She peacefully departed this life and entered into her heavenly resting place on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury Maryland.

Deloris received her formal education in the Somerset Public School system.  She was employed by Purdue Industries in Salisbury, Maryland where she retired in 2000 after 18 years of service.

She leaves to cherish precious memories are her sons, Anthony Cotton Sr. of Westover, MD, James Cotton, Sr. of Manokin, MD and Maurice Cotton Sr. of Westover, MD; one sister, Mae H. Card of Westover, MD; 18  grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sons father, Morris E. Cotton, Sr and her sons; Morris Cotton and Timothy Cotton Sr. and one granddaughter, Shaniki Roy; four brothers, Herbert Armwood, Jr., Oscar Armwood, Edward James Armwood and Garfield Armwood and four sisters, Beatrice Hayward, Elizabeth White, Mary Cottingham, and Lola Harris.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Samuel Wesley United Methodist Church, 28815 Fairmount Road, Manokin, MD with a viewing one hour prior. A Public viewing will also be held 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Monday, January  24, 2022 at the Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD

Interment will be at Samuel Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Manokin, MD.

  3. Mrs Dee as l called her was my pretend Mother in law for over 18 years her sense of humor was very entertaining to me . I’ll miss her she was one of a kind. I’m so glad l visited her on her pass birthday. Never said it to her but l love you Mrs Dee RIP
