Famina Bernetta Bowyer

Funeral Services for Ms. Bowyer have been changed to 1:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home, a viewing will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. 

Famina Bernetta Bowyer, 64, made her heavenly transition on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware to be with the Lord. She was born on August 31, 1957 to the late Grace Lee Harris and Henry Lee Williams, she was raised by Nettie Lee Williams and Howard Horsey (Pedo).

Famina, affectionately known to family and friends as “Freda” she was born and raised in Crisfield, MD. She received her education at Crisfield High School. “Class of 75” she worked several jobs in her lifetime. She owned Bowyer’s Taxi and MomMom’s Day care. She was also a full time Mom, Grandmom, Great-Grandmom and a full time Housewife which she loved.

Freda was truly a remarkable women of God. She loved and cherished her family and everyone else she came in contact with. She will always be remembered as a loving person. When she wasn’t encouraging someone, she was loving and praying for them regardless of their  flaws or situation. She loved praising the Lord at all times. She also loved to cook for everyone. Freda had a contagious smile a good heart and a sense of humor that everyone loved. She has touched so many hearts.

Freda life and memories are survived, cherished and loved by her husband of 45  years, William Bowyer Sr., her children Tomika Fisher (Kevin), William Bowyer Jr., Sharonda Bowyer (Derrick), and Janae’ Bowyer; a special nephew  she raised as  her own Clarence Nicholson her brothers Clarence Cullen (Linette), Larry Jones (Cynthia), Henry Fitchett, Everette Williams and Morris White, her sisters Maxine Milbourne, Karen Cullen, Jamie Weems, Faith Harris, Lynette Sanders, Andrea Jones-Moses, Shirlene Blue, Faith Lettman and Phyllis Dickerson (John). 20 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother in laws; George Bowyer (Alfreda), Samuel Bowyer Sr., (Penny) and a sister in law Alice Hayes (David) and a host  of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, adopted children and adopted grandchildren.

Freda was preceded in death by her brother, James Harris Jr., her sister Shirley White, her grandchildren William III, Diana and Kaleo’ and several aunts and uncles.

  5. Cousin fredia was the best cousin grandmom mommy and aunt sister and wife to everyone in her family. We all loved her deeply and her advice and everything that she had done for us and also how stricted and bold she was in her life. She and her smile brighten up everyone when she would walk in the room and be around everyone. She was everyone mom that knew her and loved her so much. R.I.P. cousin Fredia Gone too soon but never forgotten. Prayers for both of my families. Prayers and condolences
