Alvin Lee Williams

Alvin Lee Williams, 73, of Upper Hill, Maryland, formerly of Cairo, Georgia departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at his residence.  Born April 11, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Albert Williams and Alma Jones-Williams.

Bill attended Grady County Schools in Cairo, Georgia and graduated from Washington Consolidated High School in 1967. Later that same year, Bill was drafted into the United States Army where he served with diligence fighting during the Vietnam War.

At an early age, “Bill” as he was affectionately called, began playing football on the Midgets football team. His love for football continued throughout his school years in Cairo, Georgia. Of course, he became an avid football fan for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bill met and fell in love with his wife, Denise, who he married October 14, 1997.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always had a joke to share or just simply knew how to make you laugh.

Bill leaves to cherish fond memories with his devoted wife, Denise Williams; five children, Stephon Williams, Sabrina, Jermaine Chisholm (Sade), Nathan Williams (Rhiana), Tatria Harris (Mark); two stepsons, Damon Williamson, and Anthony Williamson (Sasha); several loving grand and great grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred Gourdine, Gloice Weems, Annie Ruth Williams and Alma Bush; a host of nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Lee Williams and one sister, Eula Grace Dailey.

A funeral  service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church,  8242 Upper Hill Road, Westover ( Upper Hill ), Maryland with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will also be held 2:00 PM-6:00 PM PM Friday,  October 14, 2022 at  Anthony E. Ward,  Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne,  Maryland.

Interment will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
