La-Verne Marie Watkins, 74, of Marion Station, formerly of Philadelphia, PA departed this life on Thursday, July 20,2023 at Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pocomoke City, MD. Born April 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Watkins, Louise E. Horsey and Frederick Horsey.
She is survived by her brother Thomas Watkins, several nephews, nieces and other relatives.

La-Verne was a strong woman that loved the Lord and loved her church. She will be sadly missed in the Marion United Methodist Church.
Praying for the family of Sis. Laverne Watkins. I will miss Sis. Laverne. When I would go visit her at the Hartley Hall Nursing Home, and when I would enter the room she would greet me with that smile of hers and say Pastor Purnell it’s good to see you.
