Beverly Ann Whittington-Ames

Beverly “Ann” Whittington-Ames, 78, of Crisfield,  MD, was called to rest Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (Genesis ) in Salisbury,  MD at 12:30 PM due to a long term illness.  Born March 14, 1945, Beverly was the daughter of the late Harriett Whittington and Leon Whittington.

She was educated in the Public School of Somerset County.  She was employed by Mrs. Paul’s Kitchen and Handy’s Seafood several years prior to her illness.

She leaves to cherish her memories with:  two sons, George Robert Ames, III (Rogette) and Craig Ames (Kiashada), all of Cambridge, MD; three daughters, Romona Whittington, Vivian Whittington, both of Crisfield, MD and Starlene Ames of Glen Burnie, MD; one brother, Leroy Whittington of Crisfield, MD; one special grandson who she raised, Carl “CJ” Thomas, Jr. of Crisfield; 15 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; one special cousin, Cynthia White-Anderson; a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gloria, Mable, Dorthell, Alverta, Betty Lou, Lilly Mae, Mindell and Mitchell .

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Saint Paul A.M.E Church,  Fourth Street and Broadway in Crisfield, MD with a viewing one hour Prior. Interment will follow at Mount Peer Cemetery, Marion Station,  MD.
