Willie J. Schoolfield

Willie James Schoolfield peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Tidal Health in Salisbury, Md. “Billy”, as he was affectionately known to many, was born on July 19, 1965, in Trenton, NJ to late William and Annie Schoolfield.

Willie received his education from the Somerset County’s Public School System where he graduated in 1986. He worked for Evans Boat at a young age and later became a supervisor at Bayliner, a yacht building company. Until his health failed, he worked for a lumber company in Willards, MD.

Willie never met a stranger and once someone did meet him, they would never forget him. There was never a dull moment when he was around, and you could always count on a good laugh. Willie loved cooking, fishing, and being with family and friends. His grandchildren meant the world to him and no matter what they would do, they were always “Pop Pop’s babies.”

Willie leaves to cherish his memories with, his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Schoolfield; two sons, Steven Schoolfield (Brittanie) and Andre Schoolfield, Sr.; one daughter, Adrienne Schoolfield; four grandchildren, Ravyn Schoolfield, Andre Schoolfield, Jr., Kadyn Schoolfield, and Akyli Schoolfield; two sisters, Renee Schoolfield, and Annie Miles; two brothers, Johnny Schoolfield, and Robert Schoolfield; a special aunt, Janie Christopher; a special sister-in-law, Virginia Mack, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Ames; two brothers, Benjamin and Stanley Schoolfield.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 2, 2025, at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 27945 Holland Crossing Road, Marion Station, MD with a viewing one-hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6-8 PM Friday, August 1, 2025, at the church.
