Jamie Marie Fontaine

Jamie Marie Fontaine, 48, gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home in Crisfield, Maryland. Jamie was born in Crisfield, Maryland, on September 4, 1977, to the late Frances Rosenberry and James Fontaine.

Jamie was known for her great personality and her smile that lit up any room. She was always the life of the party in her younger years and loved having a good time. During her high school years Jamie enjoyed the dance club and being seen in every parade. Not only could you catch Jamie busting a move to Planet Rock, but she also excelled in the athletic department as well.

Jamie loved and excelled at basketball, earning numerous medals and trophies. She was a member of Crisfield High School’s class of 1995. Known for her compassion, she began her career in healthcare. Later, she worked at Sherwin Williams/Rubberset in Crisfield until health issues arose in 2018. Despite setbacks, Jamie returned to work at Somerset Community Services in 2021 and was always productive.

Jamie loved traveling and staying active in her free time. She was proud of her gardening skills, always keeping her home inside and out looking its best. Her favorite flower was the rosebush out front of her home. Decorating was a major hobby of Jamie’s. She loved to decorate during the holidays so she could compete with her father, sister, and neighbors. It was always the small things Jamie cherished. Jamie loved to show her hospitality. She loved good company and opening her door to her family and friends. Jamie was always willing to give a listening ear or a hot meal.

Jamie was not only a caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but also an exceptional mother. Jamie absolutely loved and went above and beyond for her two wonderful sons until her last breath. Her boys were her heart, her love, her world, her everything. She deeply loved her two sons and devoted herself to them completely, offering them unwavering care and dedication.

When Jamie’s health took a turn for the worst, she never once complained. She righted her wrongs, got closer to God, and enjoyed every moment she could with her sons, family, and friends. Jamie really looked forward to her mornings. We learned she had her own personal chief in the AM, LeMonte, Sr. She kept her head high and spoke positively about her situation, assuring us she was fine.

Jamie leaves to cherish loving memories with her father, James Fontaine; two wonderful sons, LeMonte Bell, Jr. and Logan Bell; one sister, Janise Fontaine; three nieces, Dayonna Merrill, Jaliyah, and Jamiyah Taylor; one nephew, Darryl Merrill III; and her children’s father, LeMonte Bell, Sr. Also mourning her loss are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Rosenberry.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Handy United Methodist Church, 5630 Tulls Corner Road, Marion Station, MD with a viewing one-hour prior. A public viewing will be held 2-6 pm Friday, November 28, 2025, at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD. Interment will follow at Mount Peer Cemetery, Marion Station.
