Wanda Mildred King

Wanda Mildred King transitioned to her eternal rest on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at home surrounded by her family at the age of 76. She was born on November 19, 1949, to the late Warren and Madeline Spence.

Wanda was educated in the Somerset County Public School System. She was previously employed by Family Dollar Store until she retired after 25 years of service.  She also worked for Macy’s Clothing Store until it closed.  Later, she was employed by Dollar General until her health began to fail.

Wanda was united in marriage to the late Littleton “Jughead” King. From this union they had four children. She grew up attending Grace United Methodist Church and later joined St. Mark United Methodist Church.

She loved the Lord.  Family was the important part of her life, especially spoiling the grandchildren. She was a hard worker who wouldn’t sit still even after retirement. She would watch westerns all the time unless she was reading or playing the game on her phone.  Wanda watched NFL and Dallas Cowboys being her favorite team.

She leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Dawn Spence of Princess Anne, MD; three sons, Terrial King of Charlotte, NC, Jerome (Angel) King of Delmar, DE, Tyrone (Cassandra) King of Princess Anne; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Charlene) Spence of Salisbury, MD; two sisters, Darlene Jones of Glen Burnie, MD and Dina Spence of Princess Anne and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Shirley White, Dolphine Jones and Gwendolyn Spence; two brothers, Omar and Barry Spence.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Saint Mark United Methodist Church 32256 Perryhawkin Road, Princess Anne (Oaksville), MD with a viewing one-hour prior. A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2026, at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD. Interment will follow at Oaksville Community Cemetery.
