Patty Ann Shockley

Patty Ann Shockley, 54, of Frederica, Delaware departed this life on Wednesday, April 29,2026. Born in Salisbury, Maryland.  Born February 27, 1972, she was the eldest daughter of Woodrow W. Shockley, Jr. and the late Patsy D. Hall. she was also the stepdaughter to Gloria M. Shockley.

She was educated in the Worcester County Public Schools with Cedar Chapel being her mainstream school. After her education ended at Cedar Chapel, she enrolled at the Worcester County Developmental Center in Newark, Maryland.

As a young child she attended St. James Holiness Church in Snow Hill, Maryland, along with her siblings. Patty loved to sing and occasionally read scriptures in church while being coached by her mother. Patty was very quiet in nature, but if she got upset you would definitely know it, Patty had a unique talent. She was able to remember the entire family’s birthdays without hesitation. In patty’s later years in life…she went to live with her sister (Arnetta) in Frederica, you could often find her on the couch watching movies and soap operas.

In addition to her father and stepmother, she is survived by her two sisters, Arnetta l. Shockley of Frederica, and Sharonda l. Shockley of Delmar, Maryland; aunts; Winnie mason of Snow Hill, Maryland, Bessie Collick of Salisbury, Maryland, Linda Richardson of Wilmington, Delaware, Polly Hall of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Terry Evans of Newark, Delaware, and Carmen Hall of  Wilmington;  uncles,  Edward l. Hall, Jr. of West end, North Carolina, Garry l. Shockley of Salisbury, Kenneth O. Shockley of Delmar and Gerald A. Shockley of Ocean City, Maryland; three nephews, whom she loved very much, Wilmer of Dover, Delaware, Brandon of Frederica, Delaware and Armontay Dover and several cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward l. Sr., Sara Hall, Woodrow W., Sr. and Virginia Shockley.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne with a viewing one-hour prior.

Interment will be at Mt. Wesley Cemetery.

  1. We all loved Patty Ann and I will always remember her warm smile and loving personality. Her faith was in King Jesus.
