David Lee Polk, Sr., 80, of Princess Anne, MD was born October 17, 1945, and slipped away gracefully as God said come to me my loyal and servant child on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in the comfort of his home because “Earth Has No Sorrow That Heaven Cannot Feel and No Sadness That Heaven Cannot Heal.”
Fuzzy as he was affectionately known was married to the late Joyce Ann Polk for 55 years, he was the youngest son of sixteen children born to the late Raymond, Sr. and Hettie B. Polk.
Fuzzy received his education in the Somerset County Public School System. He graduated from Somerset Junior and Senior High School in Princess Anne. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and Navy which included two tours of the Vietnam War. He was employed at various jobs as his profession was laying concrete, he could lay a mean sidewalk and garage floor until his illness in 2015.
Fuzzy leaves to cherish loving memories with: a daughter, Karen Corbin; a son, David Polk, Jr. both of Princess Anne; seven grandchildren, KaToya Manns (Treyton), Deona Polk-Milbourne, Michael Ware, Ty’Daisha Polk, Janea Polk, Serenity Polk, and Kalayah Polk; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Polk and Hattie Palmer (Perry Banks), one step-sister-in-law, Karen Robinson; three brothers-in-law, Percy Chase, Bruce Palmer and George Palmer; one step-brother in-law, Muriel Robinson (Cassandra); nine loving and devoted caregivers, Tonya Beckett, Deborah Brunson, Kierra Christopher, Ernestine Cottman, Lisa Jones, Tamika Jones, Serenity Polk, Becky Pritchett and Monique White; one godson, Floyd “Bug” Bivens, Jr.; three goddaughters, Sharina Hall, Ashley Duston (Edward) and Trina Hall; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Polk, 16 siblings, Beatrice Polk, Bernice Stevenson, Bessie Ballard, Charles Polk, Clifton Polk, Earl Polk, Ephriam Polk, Glenmore Cannon, Ida Polk, Irving Polk, Jennie Chase, Lottie Moses, Lucille Jones, Raymond Polk, Jr., Rita Polk and Walter Polk, Sr.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Saint Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church, 12255 Pete’s Hill Road, Princess Anne , MD with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne.
Interment will follow at John Wesley (Bowland Hill) Cemetery in Princess Anne.
