Paul Fontez Tucker was born on July 18, 1978, to Prophet James Tucker, Sr., and the late Missionary Paula Tucker. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Paul was educated in the Somerset County Public School System and attended Crisfield High School, where he was an active student. He proudly participated in the school band and played basketball. Gifted with exceptional artistic talent, Paul excelled in painting and drawing and was honored as Artist of the Year. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, completing basic training in Illinois. He later served his country in Norfolk, Virginia as a software engineer. Paul also completed Aviation School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Paul had a vibrant personality and a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around him. Affectionately known by many as “Papi,” “Papi Chulo,” and “Jamaica,” he never met a stranger. He loved talking, dancing, and singing and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether moving furniture, repairing something around the house, cooking a meal, or helping care for loved ones, Paul gave freely of himself. He was also proficient in sign language and enjoyed speaking Spanish-something he took great pride in and often reminded everyone about with a smile.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his loving father, Prophet James Tucker, Sr.; four sisters, Evangelist Juana Leonard (Anthony), Amber Tucker, Danielle Parsons (John), and Keisha Tucker; two brothers, James Tucker Jr. (Rhodea) and Joseph Tucker (Deirdra); eight aunts, Alice Bates, Mary Champion, Annie James, Lovetta Kersey, Gail Fields, J. Rena Ford (Russell), Faithanne Tucker (Joe), and Shirley Pettis; six uncles, Arthur Miles, James Miles, Terry Fields, Jerry Fields, Clifton Fields, and Dontai Fields (Keoca); his Godmother, Kisha Collins; three God-sisters, Yolanda Whittington, Brittany Tilghman, and Nika Ambeau; three God-brothers, Linwood Lee Sr., Kenyon Whittington, and Terrel Steward; two special friends, Shawntal Russell and Tanya Blake; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Missionary Paula Tucker; his grandparents, Alfred Jr. and Pauline Fields; his great-grandmother, Anna Fryer; his sister, Niya Tucker; and his uncles, Alfred Fields III and Tommy Fields.
Paul’s laughter, generosity, artistic gifts, and loving spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Though he has departed this earthly life, his legacy of kindness, service, and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Highway Holiness Church, 27127 Old State Road, Crisfield, Maryland with a viewing one-hour prior. A Wake and Visitation will be held 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Church.
Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Crisfield.

Oh how we’re going to miss you, sweetheart. Aunt Annie is so glad we got to spend time together during Thanksgiving. You had us laughing as you shared moments of your tour in the Navy. Thank you for that sweet hug you gave me as we said goodbye. I never dreamed it would be our last meeting upon this earth. But it’s not the end! Glory to God, He gives us eternal life and one day we will all rejoice in His kingdom. We love You, sweetheart. Your father has not only lost a son but a good friend. We’ll take care of him for you. Rest in the loving arms of God, sweetheart until we see you again.
