Andre Lamont Collins, Sr., son of Constance Waters Collins and the late John Wesley Collins, Sr., was born on February 16, 1970, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He departed this life on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Andre, as he was lovingly called by his family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Somerset County. He graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1988 and continued his education at Essex Community College and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Andre was employed by M4Security, LLC, TCS Security, and Macy’s in Springfield, Virginia, where he served as an Asset Protection Detective. He was last employed by Target Corporation in Greenbelt, Maryland, where he worked as a Security Detective until his passing.
He loved sports, and if there was a game being played, Andre was sure to be there. He was well known throughout the community for his outstanding basketball career during his high school years. While many admired his accomplishments on the basketball court, those closest to him knew that his favorite sport was baseball.
Andre was kind in nature and devoted to his family and friends. His warm smile, generous spirit, and love for those around him will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish precious memories with his loving mother, Constance Waters Collins; one brother, John Collins, Jr.; one sister, Lisa Collins (Ronald); two daughters, Shayla Handy and Aubree Holbrook; three sons, Adrian Harmon, Delonte Bryant, and Andre Collins, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Dasia, Lilah, Ariya, Alai, Arion, Arnez, and Josiah; two uncles, George Collins (Mable) and Fulton Eugene Collins, Sr.; three aunts, Evangelist Alice White, Alona Collins and Angelia Collins-Blakey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, July 10, 2026, at Anthony E. Ward, Jr., Funeral Home, 30639 Hampden Avenue, Princess Anne.

Andre’ l Love You So Much! My heart is shattered into pieces, and I don’t know what to do. Never would I have thought hours after I gave you your medication and tried to comfort you through small talk did I think that would be our last conversation or last time I saw your eyes open. You were my protector and I was yours. I’m thinking about the memories, the things we did growing up, things since we’ve been grown, our family times and all the laughs. Mom is completely heart broken, and John is devastated! You’re our baby!!! I’m so sorry this happened to you, to us. I feel better knowing , not only are you with God, but with dad.
Get Your Rest, We Love and Will Miss You Forever! Connie, John-John and Lisa

I’ve known Andre (Dre) since our little league days. Devastating to hear the passing of my friend. My sincere condolences to the entire family. May you RIP my manz. Till we meet again 🕊🫂🕊
Some losses hit differently, and this is one of them. Rest in peace, my cousin Andre Collins. We grew up together, played high school basketball and baseball together, and shared a brotherhood that time could never erase. You weren’t just my cousin, you were like a brother to me.
A couple of years ago, you reached out just to check on me and reconnect. I’m grateful we had that moment, and I only wish we had more time. Your passing has truly hit my heart.
Though we grieve, we do not grieve without hope. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
And I hold on to the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:8: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
I’m going to miss you dearly, brother. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the competition, and the love we shared growing up. Until we meet again, rest well in the presence of our Lord.
My deepest prayers and heartfelt condolences to the entire Collins family. May God’s peace and comfort surround each of you during this difficult time.
May the Lord give you and your family strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.
Gone but not forgotten, my condolences to the family.Tairen ,
the princess(Aubree) and Kilo will miss you but you forever in out 💜.
Cousin this has my heart crying I had reach out to you and we kept in touch with on another you kept me laughing always came Vist when I was in living uptown in princess Anne family my deepest heartfelt condolences to all Andes knew I love him we always end our conversation with I love you and you take care
Classmate of 1988: It took me a while, to gather the words to address this loss, but like anything, I had to deal with it. You were “the tallest in the hallways of Washington High School” in our class. We could see you all the way down the hall before we saw anything else. When you got on the court, we knew we would win, because we had you. Take your rest, May your family find peace in the days ahead.
God makes no mistakes. Many memories growing up together, that are unforgettable and will be cherished. May the comfort and peace of God rest upon you during this difficult time. God bless 🙏🏾
