Rodney Singleton Douglas, a resident of Crisfield, Maryland, was born on May 30, 1968, and departed this life on August 7, 2026, at the University of Maryland Baltimore Hospital. He was the son of Luvenia S. Douglas and Aaron L. Douglas Sr.
He attended Crisfield High School, graduating with the Class of 1986, and later attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he studied Culinary Arts. He was employed by Maryland Public Schools in transportation.
Rodney was a cherished member of the community and was affectionately known for his warm personality and joyful spirit. He will be remembered for his warm bear hugs and radiant smile.
In September 2010, Rodney devoted his life to God and became a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church, where he served in several capacities, including Usher, Trustee, Armor-Bearer, and member of the Sons of Allen. Ten years ago, Rodney humbly embraced the change God was making in his life and courageously began his journey toward sobriety, choosing a path of healing, hope, and a brighter future. This stands as a testament to answered prayer and to the prayers his mother had lifted for him for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his sister, Felisa Brown; brother, Aaron L. Douglas Jr. (Akiko); two nieces, Anitra Douglas, and Eboni Johnson (William Jr.); a nephew, Edwin Games; great-nieces, Monica Stephens, Jiah Johnson, Jahniah Johnson, Jurnee Johnson, and Ylan Games; great-nephews, Savanta Selby Jr., Samari Games, and Edwin Jr.; and many more great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his only son, Aaron L. Douglas 3rd; his sister, Marcia Douglas; his grandmother, Jennie Kersey; and many other beloved family members.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 4th St. and Broadway in Crisfield, MD with a viewing one-hour prior. A public viewing will be held 2:00 PM-6:00PM Friday, August 14, 2026, at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Crisfield.

Sorry to hear of Rodney s passing, he will be truly missed. I enjoyed being his pastor back in the 90’s to 2000. He and his entire family were faithful and loving people to serve. Rodney was a wonderful and kind-hearted man who loved helping others. He was one of my best friends, and I still can’t believe he is gone. He left us far too soon, but I find comfort knowing that he gave his life to God before he passed. May he rest peacefully in God’s loving arms. Rodney will always be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
Mr. Rodney drove my daughter to school for two years and we are very saddened to hear this. He was a good man and patient with the kids he transported.
May God be with his family and friends during this time.
