Anthony “Tony” Horsey

In Loving Memory of “Tony” Horsey

Anthony “Tony” Horsey, who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Manokin, MD, Anthony was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Anthony received his education in the Somerset County, MD, attending Washington High School in Princess Anne.

During his earlier years, Anthony was employed at Purity Bacon until his health prevented him from continuing. He later found ways to earn extra money through small jobs around town while also helping care for his aging parents. He remained in the family home, providing them with care, companionship, and support.

Anthony was a man who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing, boxing, hunting frogs, trapping muskrats, and spending time with his beloved cats. He had a special affection for his feline companions, knowing each one by name and remembering their ages. These simple joys were a meaningful part of his life and reflected the things he held dear.

Family held a special place in Anthony’s life, and he especially treasured the time spent with his parents before their passing. He also   enjoyed taking rides around town, visiting familiar places, reminiscing about days gone by, and sharing stories with friends. Although he appreciated the company of others, Anthony also valued his independence and the peace and quiet of being alone. Whether surrounded by friends or enjoying moments of solitude, Anthony found happiness in living life in his own way.

He leaves to cherish his memory with his loving daughter, Miya Horsey (D’Andre) of Salisbury, MD; his sons, Adrian Lamar Gunther of Eden, MD and Anthony Leon Horsey, Jr. of North Carolina; his cherished grandchildren, Yo’hance Baynard, Adri’Yonna Marie Gunther, and Renee Michelle Gunther; and his precious great-grandson, Rye’n Baynard; his beloved siblings, David Lee Horsey, Jr. of Princess Anne, Robert Horsey (Deborah) of Salisbury, MD,

Phyllis Horsey of Westover, MD, Tyrone Horsey of Princess Anne, and Jervan Horsey of Bowie, MD; his dear aunt, Ethel Wallace of Westover; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Anthony was preceded in death by his loving parents, Evelyn Marion Horsey (Cotton) and David Lee Horsey, Sr.; and his brother, Arthur “Dexter” Horsey.

Although Anthony’s earthly journey has come to an end, his memory will live on through the stories he shared, the laughter he brought to others, and the special moments spent with those he loved. His life reminds us that some of our most treasured memories are found in the simplest moments spent with family, conversations with friends, and the familiar comforts of home.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Rest peacefully, Tony

You will always be remembered and forever loved.
