Jyrah Xavier Brown

Jyrah Brown of Salisbury, Maryland was born on June 5, 2009, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Jyrah attended Fruitland Primary School. His favorite items were his dump truck, pick-up truck, phonics apple and his educational activity table. He loved pulling the elastic string out of his sock. His favorite movie was Alvin and the Chipmunks, Madea, and Charlotte’s web. He loved the television show Little House on the Prairie and the morning news. His favorite songs were Pop goes the Weasel and “I love Jyrah” written by his mother, Tammy Brown. His favorite foods were macaroni and cheese, yogurt, cheese cubes, cheez-it crackers and nutri-grain bars.

Jyrah loved attending his day care “God’s Little Angels” and his school Fruitland Primary. In addition, Jyrah participated on the Special Olympics Basketball Team at his school.

Jyrah leaves cherished memories with his parents:  Henry P. Brown, Jr. and Tammy Brown;  his sister, Jennifer Brown; a maternal grandmother, Shirley Collins;  a paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Brown; a paternal grandfather,  Henry Phil Brown, Sr.; a maternal aunt, Signe Collins;  four paternal aunts, Cora Lee Brown, Lecia Rosario, Nina Creek and Marvina Brown;  three paternal uncles, David Brown, Mario Brown and Mark Brown;  a very special cousin,  Sharonne Tilghman, who was his first babysitter; a host of great uncles and aunts; godparents, Elder Eric and Robin Harmon; and a host of cousins.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, Maryland.  A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church on Tuesday.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Interment will be at Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury, Maryland.
