Levi M. Corbin

Levi McKinley Corbin, 63 was the son of the late Jacob and Beatrice “Teeny” Hall Corbin.  Born on February 27, 1953 he departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2016 at his home.

He was educated in the Somerset County Public School system where his studies geared around sports and the agriculture program.  Because of his outstanding abilities on the baseball field, he acquired the nickname of “the Hulk.” After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for three years.  Not an idol man, after his tour, he became employed by Firestone, (later known as Oxci-Chemical) and now known as Poly-One.  Working diligently, he was employed there for 40-years.

Levi always enjoyed sports, especially a good softball or baseball game, hunting, fishing, not to mention a good game of golf with ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­his golf buddy Leroy Manuel.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marie of 41 years; one son, Warren; four grandchildren;  three brothers, Wordell of Oaksville, Marshall “Buckshot” and his wife, Virginia, of Princess Anne, MD and Gerald of Oakland, CA; three sisters, Mary Jones and her husband, Herman “Archie,” Sr. of Fayetteville, NC, Darlene Minns of Oaksville and Gwendolyn Vinson and her husband, Allen, of Eden, MD; one aunt and uncle Ethel Milton and Milford Hall both of Philadelphia, PA;  one goddaughter, Trina Hayward, two play children,  Russell “Gus” Maddox and Emma “Mikey” Maddox-Manuel; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Earlee  Corbin, Sr.

A Funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 32256 Perryhawkin Road, Princess Anne, MD with a viewing one hour prior. A public viewing will be held 1-6 PM Friday at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne.  Interment will be in Oaksville Community Cemetery.

  1. Marie, May the love of family and friends give you peace through your grief. Levi personified friendship both at work and while playing softball. Always and forever #8! Wanda, our children, and I loved Levi. He was witty, clever, and quick to respond with his humor. Levi was family to us and he will be missed.
