William Douglas Jones, Sr.

William “Billy Rhock” Douglas Jones,  Sr., born on February 9, 1936 to the late Annie (Rhock) and William Jones, departed this life on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Genesis Health Care in Salisbury, Maryland.

Billy received his education in Somerset County and enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years.  Billy held jobs in construction and landscaping before retiring from J-N-D Landscaping in Princess Anne, Maryland.

Billy was the life of any party.  If you were in Billy’s company, you were in store for a good laugh.  He would dance, enjoy his “spirits” and beer, and talk trash.  Before his decline in health, you could possibly see Billy riding on any back road in Somerset County, since he knew them like the back of his hand.  Billy had a soft spot when it came to children and it was common to see a house full of children at Billy and Terri’s on any given day.  Billy was outspoken and sure to speak his mind whether it hurt your feelings or not, but you couldn’t help but love Billy Rhock, the man that made grease, greasy.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, eight children, William “Billy Boy” Jones (Rhonda), Veronica “Ronnie” Robinson, Felcia Jones, Jan Jones (Weltonia), Trinette Jones, Eric Ball (Georgina), Derrick Ball (Sharonda) and Shane Ball (Leslie); 19 grandchildren: Joseph “Lanny”, Desmond, Brooklyn, Chantell, Chauron, Kia, Janise, LaKiesha “KeKe”, Jakai, TroJuan “TJ”, Teona, Tyrell, DeSyre, Dyamond, Derrick Jr, LaShayna, Shane Jr, Jeremiah and Alayssia; one sister, Danita Smith; two sisters-in-law, RoseLee Collins and Denise “Dee” Ball; one brother-in-law, Harrison Ball Jr; best friend, Jesse Lee Jones; a special cousin, Harrison “Soonie” Hayman; and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Jones; a daughter, Shirley Ann Jones; one great-grandson,  Quayvon Johnson; a special uncle, Hilary Rhock; and a special cousin, James “Jimmy” Rock.

  2. I was sorry to hear of the passing of William Jones. I only knew him as Terri’s husband.
I was her pastor for 14 years. My prayers go out to all of you.
