Deborah A. Smith

Deborah Ann Smith, 63 of Baltimore, Maryland formerly of Crisfield, Maryland, departed this life Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Rosedale, Maryland. Born August 29, 1957, she was the daughter of Mary Jackson and the late James Banks.

In addition to her mother she leaves to cherish fond memories with her devoted husband, Nathaniel Smith, Sr.; two sons, Nathaniel Smith, Jr. and Ethan Pranke;  three grandchildren,  Dallion , Alayja and Raden; five brothers, Elmer Jackson, Hezekiah Jackson, Anthony Banks, Robin Banks and Eric Harmon (Deborah); four sisters, Charlene Fields, Dorothy Taylor, Delores Jackson and Audrey Banks; two aunts, Rev. Gertie Strasser and Lottie Jackson; several nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her father,  she was preceded in death by one brother, James Jackson and her maternal grandmother, Nettie Cottman; four uncles and three aunts.  

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, Fourth St. and Broadway in Crisfield, Maryland with a viewing two hours prior. A viewing will also be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2020 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Maryland. Internment will be at Ebenezer U.M.C. Church Cemetery in Marion Station.

  1. Aunt Debbie will be missed by love ones and anyone that knew her. She was kind, loving and a joy to be around. She was wise beyond her years. She will be missed but R. I. H. and enjoy you rest. “Well done my child !“

  2. My humble cousin Debbie so thankful I made that last trip to see you enjoy our family gathering not knowing it would be our last .. Praying Strength for our family as you are laid to rest..You will forever be in our hearts.

  3. My Aunt Debbie…. gone way too soon. I love you so much, beautiful. Thank you for teaching me the meaning of family and unconditional love… your name will live on forever. I’d do anything to see your smile again but I promise to be as strong as you were, no more complaints.
