  2. Uncle Ernest, my heart is sad and joyous all at the same time. I ache when I think about you no longer be here where I can see your smile and hear your famous words “don’t worry about me; I am ok”. God has given me unspeakable joy as I think about what an honor it is to be your niece. I thank God that he placed me in your bloodline so that I could see up close and personally what strength looked like. You, my love, showed me, showed us all that no matter how bad you may feel or how dreary the doctors make the situation, that God remains in control at all times. You showed us that through the downs, you get up on your feet, you remain faithful, you walk in your journey, and you be of service to others. Uncle Ernest, since I was a little girl, I would hook my chin on your shoulder so we could both giggle and smile. I thank you for all the smiles! I will love you forever and I will do my best to be of strength just as you taught us. Rest in peace and smiles until we meet again!

  3. Dad I am forever grateful of the time we had. You were always able to see the blessing despite the circumstance; always willing to support the positive perspective. Thank you for being the epitome of strength. I will miss your smile and especially your infectious laughter, but I know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Love you.
